THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Hard to believe that we are almost through 2018 and the snow has arrived much too early.  Due to the Holiday, there will not be a Board meeting on the 8th but has been rescheduled for the 15th.  The studio will however be available in the afternoons as usual.    Touch base with Margorie for scheduling of silk painting.

NEWS FLASH!                    DEAN BAUCHE – PORTRAITURE WORKSHOP

DATES:  October 12 – 7 pm    October 13, 14 – 10 am to 4 pm each day

Dean has been brought by popular request and we have spaces open to fill!!  Don’t be shy – he is a great teacher and any skill level is accepted.  You use your own medium.

Stop by the Art Club to sign up.  Put your payment in the envelope provided and pick up an information sheet.  You won’t be sorry!  You can even bring a friend.

Since time is running out, please spread the word as we don’t, as yet, have a new members list.  We really want everyone to have the opportunity to participate in this workshop.  It would be appreciated if the instructors throughout the week would mention this workshop to their class to get the work out.  Thanks everyone and see you there, Ivy.

Wendy Struck – Nov 23 & 24 – Art Journals Workshop

This is almost full but put your name down anyway.  Things happen in mysterious ways!

Important Dates

A Closer Look at Nature’             September 29th:  Apparently the show is a huge success given the comments from those in attendance.  It runs through December so be sure to drop in to the new interpretive centre in Police Point to take a look.

Cultural Days Open House          September 29th:  Given the cold miserable day, the show and sale was better than expected.  Thank you to those members who sacrificed their weekend for the Open House.  I personally enjoyed it very much.

Noon Potluck:                                                   October 26    Fibre Arts – Main        Pottery – Dessert           Art Club – Salad & Buns

Cloth Colour Clay Open House   Nov. 23 & 24

 Members

All storage space rented in the studio must be paid for before September 30.  Shelving is $5 and lockers are $20 for the year.   The Fume cabinet is now cleaned and ready to go as is the photocopier.  Thank you to Kimberley for taking care of these issues for us.  Should anyone still have books on loan from the library, please contact Kim so that the records can be updated.

NOTE:  I am more than happy to send out any messages regarding the Art Club but please forward them to:  hat.art.club@gmail.com.  I do not check my personal email very regularly and get a lot of non-essential communications.  I do, however, check the Art Club email daily.   Also, please appreciate that I might not be able to get to your message immediately.  I will try but no guarantees.  Thanks everyone.
